Route 66 A Last Look
Volume 1 Western States
Pop culture has embraced Route 66 for decades, John Steinbeck renamed it “The Mother Road”, Nat King Cole told us where to “Get Your Kicks” and Pixar Films gave us a movie built around the demise and rebirth of a Route 66 town. In the three decades since the official decertification of this once great highway most of the road has been abandoned, torn up or paved over and while a handful of entrepreneurs and enthusiasts keep the remaining buildings, signs and roadside attractions alive, many of the towns and travel stops have disappeared altogether. Dave Marshall and his long suffering companion Sam take you on a photographic tour of what remains and encourage all enthusiasts to go and take their own last look.
